I am not going suggest names here. But what i am going to do is help you find the perfect one you should hire.
Lot of designers will use high end images or big words, to convert your order. Sometimes, as a firm we tend to use the same while convincing a customer. But over the period of time I have prepared two metrics for judging a Interior designer. These two things will help you choose the best one.
- Designs - Of course, this plays a major role, while deciding if the designer is going to match your expectation or not. You need to find a designer who speaks your language and by language I mean your style.
Lot of designers tend to force there own style of designing on to every customer rather listening to what the customer wants. If a wrong choice is made, then you would end up with something you don’t like for the rest of your life.
“A good interior designer should be able put their personal style on the back burner and focus exclusively on yours” - Execution - This is the step where you see the true color of your designer. Mostly every designer crosses the promised handover date.
For example, if the designer has promised that the work will get over in a month’s time, then first three weeks the work will go on a very slow pace.Post your “during work” visit, they will try to speed up the process by getting multiple works done at the same, which leads to lot of mishap.
So my suggestion here would be to find a firm or a individual who has excellent skills in project management. If works are planned before hand, then the execution becomes as smooth as cheese.
“Its not design or your people skills that matters. What matters is a good execution.”
